Introduction

The TRACE (translation and censorship) project addresses the coordinated study of the incidence of (self-) censorship in the translation of different textual types (narrative, poetic, theatrical and audiovisual) in Spain during the 20th century.

One of the contributions of the project is the development of new technological tools and their application to the research of translation-related phenomena.

As an extension, the RE-TRACE studies analyse the survival of censored translations in 21st century Spain in order to suggest the restoration of those that are still available today in their (self-)censored version.
