Goals

The long-term goals of the TRACE project are:

1. To describe the transfer conditions for different kinds of texts in 20th century Spain through the analysis of parallel corpora of original texts and their translations.
2. To ascertain whether the intercultural transfer patterns were somewhat affected by the ideological constraints of the target context.
3. To verify whether the translation practices of that period have had any influence on the subsequent textual production in Spain, on (translated and non-translated) target language use and on the reception of imported texts.
